Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which program is right for my child?
During your free 20-minute parent consultation, we’ll discuss your child’s strengths, current challenges, and goals. Based on that conversation, we’ll determine the most appropriate program to begin with.
Is this therapy?
No. Shine Bright operates as a coaching practice designed to help children build confidence and develop practical tools for managing worry and everyday challenges.
Coaching does not involve diagnosis, clinical treatment, or psychotherapy. Instead, it focuses on skill development and personal growth for children who are functioning in daily life but would benefit from stronger tools and guidance.
Is coaching covered by insurance?
Coaching services are not covered by extended health benefit plans, and receipts for insurance reimbursement are not provided.
Are sessions offered in person or online?
Sessions are primarily offered in person to support connection and engagement. Private 1:1 coaching may also be offered online when appropriate or preferred.
Can my child complete more than one program?
Yes. Some families choose to continue with additional coaching after completing a program if further support would be helpful.
Will I receive updates as a parent?
Yes. Parents receive brief updates and practical suggestions that help reinforce what children are learning during coaching sessions. Coaching is most effective when parents understand and support the tools their child is developing.
What if my child is experiencing significant emotional challenges?
If your child requires clinical assessment or mental health treatment, coaching may not be the most appropriate service. This can be discussed openly during your consultation to ensure your child receives the right type of support.
Still Have Questions?
If you’re wondering whether coaching may be the right fit for your child, I’d be happy to connect and talk it through — especially if your child is struggling with worry, confidence, or everyday challenges.
