What to Expect from Coaching
Coaching sessions are active, engaging, and focused on real-life situations. Children don’t just talk about challenges—they learn practical strategies and practice using them in ways that reflect real-life situations.
Through guided lessons, discussion, and interactive activities, children learn to:
• Recognize and shift unhelpful thinking
• Develop more supportive self-talk
• Respond to mistakes in a more helpful way
• Navigate peer situations with more ease
• Approach challenges with greater confidence
The goal isn’t just helping children feel better in the moment, but giving them skills they can continue using at school, at home, and with friends.
When Coaching Is a Good Fit
Coaching can be especially helpful for children who:
• Tend to worry or overthink
• Hold back, avoid challenges, or doubt themselves
• Do well with structure and guided skill-building
• Are open to learning and practicing new strategies
Coaching isn’t about fixing a child—it’s about helping them develop the skills they need to handle challenges with greater independence.
Coaching Program
A structured 5-week coaching program designed to help children build practical skills they can use in everyday situations.
Confident Kids: A 5-Week Confidence & Mindset Program
This program provides children with a clear, step-by-step approach to understanding their thoughts, managing worry, and responding more effectively when things feel challenging.
Each session builds on the last, helping children practice and apply these skills in real-life situations.
Over five weeks, your child will:
• Learn how their thoughts influence how they feel and respond
• Practice strategies to manage worry and anxious thinking
• Develop a more supportive and encouraging inner voice
• Build confidence through small, achievable challenges
• Strengthen their ability to handle setbacks and keep trying
By the end of the program, children begin to approach situations with more confidence, feel more capable in themselves, and use these skills more independently at school, at home, and with peers.
Additional group programs and future offerings will be introduced over time.
The Shine Bright Coaching Approach
The Shine Bright Coaching Approach
Each program follows a clear, step-by-step approach that helps children build practical skills they can apply in everyday life.
1. Clarify meaningful goals
Children identify areas where they feel stuck or challenged, and what they would like to feel more confident or capable doing.
2. Learn practical tools
Children are introduced to simple, effective strategies to manage worry, guide their thinking, and respond to situations in a more helpful way.
3. Apply skills in everyday life
Children begin using these tools at school, at home, and with peers—gradually becoming more independent and better able to handle challenges as they arise.
The focus isn’t short-term reassurance, but helping children develop skills they can continue using long after coaching ends.
“It’s so important, because kids just aren’t learning this in schools… I’m so grateful you are doing what you are doing.”
— Jack Canfield, #1 New York Times bestselling author
Coaching and Therapy: What’s the Difference?
Coaching and Therapy: What’s the Difference?
Shine Bright is a coaching practice focused on helping children build practical skills for the future.
Coaching helps children learn strategies they can use when facing everyday challenges. It is best suited for children who are generally doing well but may need extra support with worry, overthinking, or self-doubt.
Therapy, by contrast, focuses more on understanding and treating deeper emotional or mental health concerns.
If therapy seems like a better fit for your child’s needs, this will always be discussed openly and professionally. Your child’s well-being will always come first.
